THE WORK

WORK IN DEVELOPMENT

I'm looking for a producer/programmer to develop this work with me for galleries and festivals.

This immersive audio-visual installation uses projected light and sound to create a physical experience of movement, tension and release.

Fan blades of light extend, rotate and compress in a tactile visual environment.

The work explores the physical potential of digital imagery. Rather than using projection simply to display an image, light becomes a material that occupies and transforms physical space.

Exploring the sensation of falling freely, compressing and releasing, the sculpture sweeps overhead and envelops the viewer.

Light and sound transform this sensation into an immersive physical experience of gravity, tension and release.

Audience experience
The installation arch actively invites audiences to move through the space and experience the projection and soundscape physically — stretching, pulling, compressing and releasing around the body. The visuals create a sensation of falling and being drawn through space, while the sound intensifies this sense of movement and gravity.

This installation has been designed specifically to be experienced from all angles. The mohair strings break up the projector light and minimise direct glare, allowing the audience to experience the visuals from all angles.

This is a scalable installation, with a self-contained basic setup. Beyond a certain scale, the technical requirements and equipment needed also increase.

SUSTAINABILITY

My studio is powered entirely by renewable energy, with 12 × 440W solar panels and 10KwH battery installed to supply the studio’s electricity.

I maintain a library of tools and materials for modular mounting and construction with natural materials, which are re-used across productions rather than purchased for single-use.

Materials EDGE LAND : bamboo skewers, metal grids, re-usable tie-wraps, paper, cardboard and paper tape.
